Trinity Outreach Commission Minutes,

The seventh Trinity Outreach Commission Meeting of 2018 took place on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in the classroom at the top of the stairs. Those in attendance were: Greg Gemeinhardt, Darry Rhine, Janet Robinson, Ted Bell, Christi Bailey, Steve DeWitt, Marsha DeWitt, Shari Burroughs and Robb Dorward.
Greg opened the meeting in prayer.
Lincoln Grant Scholar House: The refrigerator Trinity purchased has been installed and LGSH is very grateful. The school supplies collected in August have been delivered and Betty Mitchell has begun teaching sewing classes to several residents. Lincoln Grant posted a Facebook mention thanking Trinity for the school supplies, refrigerator and highlighted the sewing classes.
Little Free Library- Greg reported that Chris said the library could possibly be ready and displayed at the Red Door Rally.
Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky- Greg told the commission that Joe Obrochta will deliver the Christmas in July items collected.
Giving Tree- Joe O will refresh the tags on the tree this Sunday.
Emergency Shelter – September 15th is the next opportunity to serve dinner. Robb told the members he would contact Joe O to have him reach out and see if the date was available to serve dinner. Marsha said that Kim Webb is so grateful for the donations and the showers and laundry and they are bragging on Trinity. Due to the excessive heat, the shelter opened as a heat shelter over the summer.
Master Provisions – Joe O said he has a meeting scheduled with Master Provisions on September 13. He will provide a report at the next meeting.
Red Door Rally – September 9. Greg is hoping to have a volunteer opportunity pamphlet available to hand out at the Rally. Shari Burroughs said she will be available to answer questions and talk to interested parishioners at the Outreach table. Marsha said we could display the Giving Tree and possibly the Free Library.
Trinity Enlightened Discussion – Greg told the Commission that November 11th has been reserved for an Outreach presentation. He said his preference would be to have it be interactive with the parishioners. He asked the members to think of ideas to present at the next meeting.
Fall Plans/Ideas – Greg asked members to think about donation opportunities for the balance of the year.
Strengthening Families – Trinity is exploring the opportunity to host 2 potential events at the church in 2019.
Trinity Door Ministry – Marsha has delivered 30 bags to church since July 10.
Holmes High School – Marsha has delivered 20 bags this week for the first week of school.
Emergency Shelter – Joe O answered Robb’s text, letting the Commission know September 15 is available for Trinity to serve dinner at the shelter. Janet said that she had enough volunteers to work both the Saturday Community Dinner and the Emergency Shelter.
Next meeting – September 25th.
