17 year-old cellist Coleman Itzkoff began his cello studies at the age of 5 in the Cincinnati Public Schools' Suzuki Program in 1997, joined the University of Cincinnati's Starling Kids program in 2000, and was promoted to Principal Cello of the Starling Chamber Orchestra in the Fall of 2003. He performed with the group in Aspen, London, at Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center, and was a featured soloist on National Public Radio's From the Top in June 2007 and January 2010.  As Principal Cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, he won that group's Concerto Competition in both 2007 and 2009, appearing at Music Hall with the CSYO and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in concerti by Tchaikovsky and Haydn. He will return this year as soloist with both the Middletown Symphony and the Blue Ash Symphony, and recently made his debut with the Dayton Philharmonic as guest soloist for the gala opening of their 2009-2010 season, playing Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations. Coleman is a Senior at Cincinnati's Walnut Hills High School and a student of Indiana University Professor Eric Kim.

Chinami Ikeda, a native of Japan, holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Master’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. Ms. Ikeda gained extensive experience in accompanying while studying at the Eastman School of Music. She has also worked as an accompanist at the Interlochen Arts Center. 

Mite Box In Gathering Update

The extremely good news: Last Sunday we counted the second Mite Box Offering.  The total ingathering as of April 18th is $4,090.00

However: There is no ninth Ark….yet, but we are a “drop in the bucket” from launching that ARK!

If you forgot to bring your Mite Box, it’s not too late.  Please bring it to church on Sunday, April 25th.  If you wish to contribute to this project, checks should be made payable to Trinity Church with the notation Heifer Project.

Party to honor volunteers

Save the date and mark yout calendars!  All Trinity volunteers ( rummage sale, midday musical, kitchen clean up, cookies for college kids, or planning to work at Garden Mart). A party will be hosted by the ECW in your honor Saturday, May 8th. Details to follow soon. Please plan to come and join in on the fun!
