Godly Play Advent Stories

Advent is a time of waiting. A time for watching. A time to prepare our heart for the coming of our Lord!

Join Ms. Karen and Ms. Amy and experience the stories of Advent through Godly Play. If you have an Advent wreath, help your child light the candle for that week and listen to the story. If you don’t have a wreath, you could still light a candle to set your worship space.

Listen to the story together and afterwards, wonder about what you heard and saw. Give your child time to think about the story. Let the story develop at their pace and try not to explain it too much. The beauty of Godly Play is that the children will grow their faith and understanding at their own pace and in their own way. To help them process the story, you could encourage them to draw a picture of what the story meant to them and share it with their family. Seeing the “lightbulb moments” happening with your child is an amazing experience!
