Trinity Parish Weekend at the Cathedral Domain: August 29 - September 1

Can’t wait to see you on the mountain!  There are lots of planned activities that you may or may not want to join - hiking, swimming, games, crafts, etc.  For me, this is the most relaxing weekend of the year and I come home refreshed every year.  My personal favorite activity is sitting in a chair and looking at a tree while catching up with everyone.

Inadvertently, the article in the August Chimes included some incorrect information , so please note the following corrections:

Dates of the weekend are Friday 8/29/2025 to Monday 9/1/2025.

Theme of the weekend is a celebration of the end of summer and a farewell to Andy and Cindy Sigmon - this will be our last Domain weekend with them as they are retiring at the end of 2025.

Please register for the weekend as soon as possible, even if your plans are not completely firmed up, so that we have a good headcount for the weekend; the registration form is available below.  If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Baglien at bbaglien26@gmail.com.

What is the Parish Weekend?

Our Labor Day weekend at Cathedral Domain, the Diocese of Lexington’s camp and conference center, is a chance to get to know your parish family, make new friends, renew old friendships, and get away from your normal routine. All ages are welcome; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

It is a weekend for you to do anything you like. In addition to a Eucharist, there are various non-mandatory scheduled activities, such as Evening Prayer, Yoga, meditation groups, disc golf, and several hikes; you can choose which of these, if any, you would like to attend. You don’t have to cook; meals are provided in the dining hall. Please share that the weekend theme is Olympics. Saturday night's celebration will be "Paris KY VS Paris France". Please dress accordingly.

Reservations & Payment

In the past, we had sign up sheets for the Parish Weekend, along with assorted phone calls, emails, and notes, to sign up. Trying to track down all the details (like ages of children, etc) was very time-consuming. Please use the sign up form below.

Like all of us, the Cathedral Domain has been hard-hit by inflation, and for the first time in several years, we have had to implement a price increase this year for adults.  Prices for children have not changed.

We do have funds available for camperships for all ages.  Please contact Barbara Baglien for details.  For families with children, the most cost-effective way to enjoy the weekend is membership in the Cathedral Domain Society.   Please see Barbara, Meg Koehl, Karen Wells, or Emily Juengel for information about this option.

Please list everyone in your group by name and sign up early.  We will gather all the forms and then assign cabins in early August.

Please calculate what you owe based on the number of people in your party, their ages and the type of cabin you are requesting and pay using the form below or give a check to Barb Baglien.
