January’s A Midday Musical Menu concert will be live streamed on Wednesday (January 20) at 12:15 p.m. and will feature a return of the Southbank Quartet, the faculty string quartet of Immanuel School of Music (ISM) in Lakeside Park. The quartet was founded in 2012 and is made up of the following people: Evan Hurley, violinist; Haley Rudolph, violinist; Rebecca Flank, violist; and Ellen Stephens, cellist. The delightful program includes music by Haydn, Dvořák, and Debussy. The concert will be available afterwards on our website and YouTube channel.
The quartet members teach private lessons to over 90 string students at ISM. The members also teach and direct the Mozart (1st year) and Beethoven (2nd year) Strings Programs, which offer an introduction to stringed instruments and repertoire. These classes are offered as after-school classes for 3rd - 5th graders in 14 local Kentucky elementary schools.
