Refugee Family Update

First, we would like to provide the many parishioners who contributed bedding, furniture and made monetary donations, a HUGE Thank You! Your generosity for our family is incredible.
As you may know, the status of our Honduran family is "Suspended", which can be caused by a paperwork issue, an illness or a variety of other factors. They may not be in the U.S. before October, or later, or perhaps not at all.

As disappointing as that is, we have been offered, and accepted, another family of 6 from the Congo. This family consists of a father, mother, 2 girls and 2 boys. The children's ages are 16,14,11 and 5. We are still waiting to find out which age corresponds to which child's sex. The family has flights booked and will arrive in NKY on Thursday, September 21st.

In the coming weeks, the various refugee welcoming teams will be working diligently to complete a multitude of tasks including: the purchasing of the bedding and other household items, and the cleaning, setup and decorating of their apartment, which must be completed by the week of September 10th.

We will continue to update the congregation as we get additional information.

Please keep both of the families in your prayers. For questions, contact Shari Burrows slkellyburrows@fuse.net or Robb Dorward dblebrobb@gmail.com.
