Interim Rector Report: Nov. 29

Dear Trinity Church,

In his letter to the Christians in Thessalonica, St. Paul reminds them to "give thanks in all things" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). This was challenging for them to hear, and it remains challenging for us today as the struggles and hardships of life can often feel overwhelming. Pausing to offer thanks to God may sometimes seem out of step. And yet, every Sunday in the Eucharist (from the Greek word for Thanksgiving), we proclaim together: "It is right to give him thanks and praise."

On Thanksgiving Day, no matter where you are on your journey, I hope and pray that you can take a moment to recognize God's blessings in your life and the lives of others. If your struggles feel too heavy to see those blessings, please reach out to me or someone at Trinity. That’s why God gave us the gift of Church—so we can be a blessing to one another in times of great need and journey closer to the Kingdom together.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Lord be with you,

Jason
