Interim Rector Report: Feb. 7
Dear Trinity Church,
The writer of Hebrews reminds us of the sacred call to hospitality:
"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some have entertained angels without knowing it." (Hebrews 13:2)
In a world where welcoming spaces are needed more than ever, the Church is called to be a place of radical hospitality—a community built on God’s boundless love for all people. Living into this call can sometimes be challenging and even uncomfortable, but it is the way of Jesus.
It gives me great hope to see so many visitors in worship on Sundays. Even more, I am heartened by the warm, genuine welcome they receive from you, the congregation. Keep it up! Your kind welcome is a beacon of light to those searching for belonging in an often-isolating world.
This Sunday will be filled with faith and fellowship! After worship, we’ll share a joyful chili meal and the much-anticipated Trivia World Championship. Come, bring a friend, and—if you’re feeling bold—invite a stranger too. You never know who might be an angel in disguise.
The Lord be with you,
Jason
