Horizon Community Fund

Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky is quickly launching a new fund to support Northern Kentuckians facing increased crises or needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Horizon NKY Coronavirus Relief Fund has raised $2 million to date through gifts and partnerships of all sizes, including generous support in matching gifts from The Butler Foundation and The R.C. Durr Foundation, and corporate citizens including Fischer Homes and Drees Homes Foundation, First Financial Bank, and other individuals.

The Relief Fund will provide flexible financial assistance to nonprofits serving Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties in Northern Kentucky that are experiencing increased demand for resources in response to the COVID-19 virus in our community. The fund is designed to complement the work of local public health, nonprofit, and government entities, and to expand local capacity to support individuals and families experiencing hardship because of the outbreak and related closures and disruptions.

Our initial priority with the first phase of funding will be to fund nonprofits addressing the following needs, although others may be considered:

-       Food and basic hygiene and cleaning supplies

-       Medication and health care needs not supported by insurance

-       Access to essential needs listed above (e.g. transportation, technology)
