Sept. 23: Books & Beliefs
The new season for Books & Beliefs begins on Wednesday, September 23 at 10am in the parlor. Brandon Gabbard will be leading a discussion of The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion by Jonathan Haidt. This book explores how we rationally decide the direction we go on political and social issues - whether we are conservative, liberal or libertarian. The author takes a social science approach to explain how people’s beliefs come primarily from intuition and explains how to become more open to other points of view.
The schedule for the year is below. All are welcome, even if you have not read the book. For more information, please see Linda Smith.
