Books and Beliefs: Apr. 24

Books and Beliefs will welcome a former Cincinnati poet laureate, Pauletta Hansel, on Wednesday, April 24 at 10am. She will be reading and discussing her book Heartbreak Tree.

Pauletta’s name is well-known in this area and nationwide, particularly among those who identify as Appalachian poets. She is the author of nine books of poetry, many reflecting her Appalachian roots. On the day before our time together, her new book Will There Be Singing? will appear in bookstores. Readers of Heartbreak Tree will find much gracious reflection and much to challenge us. She will give us all a new perspective on poetry and on this complex area in which we live.

We will meet in the Parlor at 10 a.m. Books will be on sale starting Sunday, April 7th, after church. They are $14.00 cash or check
