Caring Circles
Dear Friends,
Physical distancing is a powerful way we might all do our part in helping to stop the spread of the coronavirus. At Trinity we are very aware of the risk of social isolation that can happen in times like these, and are working hard to ensure that we might remain connected to one another. One of these efforts is through our new Caring Circles. They are designed to keep us in community with one another.
Each circle will have a trained leader who is responsible for reaching out to the rest of the circle. A leader may communicate with you through phone calls, texts, email, video chats, or social media. The point is to stay in touch, pray, and, when needed, assist you with basic tasks or necessities. Your circle leader will communicate these requests, such as grocery shopping or picking up a prescription, to the staff at Trinity, who will then seek volunteers in the congregation to be of assistance.
Each caring circle will be comprised of 12-15 households, grouped alphabetically. This may mean that you will not know your leader, and provides you the opportunity to get to know someone new. Caring Circle Leaders will receive training and will be supervised by Susan Blom, our Lay Pastoral Associate.
We hope that you will welcome this new way to stay in community even as we remain apart. We will be training our leaders during the first week in April, and expect to launch our Caring Circle program shortly thereafter.
In Christ,
The Reverend Peter D. D’Angio, Rector
