Sprouts & Stouts Update
We wanted to update everyone on the status of 2020’s Sprouts & Stouts. Our committee has been in constant contact and met a few times this past week in regards to the COVID19 virus. As you know, the CDC is updating and changing recommendations for best practices every day.
Because we cannot predict how long the government will recommend social distancing, we have chosen to CANCEL this year’s event. This was not a decision that was made lightly; it was a very difficult decision that came with a lot of thought and prayer.
However, we had to look at a few key decision factors to come to our conclusion. If we waited it out and made our decision closer to the event, we risked losing all of our deposits. This event has a budget of over $30,000 and if we fail then that would be the last year we would have Sprouts & Stouts and no one wants that. We have to be good stewards of the ECW’s money.
We also had to look at the future and why we do this event. Sprouts & Stouts is Trinity’s gift to the community by hosting and the organizations we donate to. We must preserve this for the future.
In talking with our tent vendor and stage vendor, we have worked out an arrangement where they will apply our deposit to May 7th and 8th, 2021. So, go ahead and save the date!
Although we cannot have a big music festival this year, we are still working out the possibility of having a smaller scale plant sale. We have a few parishioners that placed a pre order and we want to honor those. We are still working to see how we could make a plant sale work with the current situation and how it would look if things are worse. We will keep everyone informed on this as we have more information.
We want to thank everyone who has been working hard to make Sprouts & Stouts happen. Trinity is blessed with the best volunteers around! Please stay safe and healthy and pray that we will have a great little Garden Mart!
