Episcopal 101: Adult Confirmation Class
"Confirmation is the rite in which we make a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop." (BCP p. 860)
Trinity Church will host a six-week Inquirer’s Class for visitors and new members. During these informal sessions, newcomers will be introduced to our staff and lay leadership, our pattern of worship, our history and Theology.
This is also an opportunity for newcomers to learn more about joining the Episcopal Church and officially becoming members of our congregation.
For those preparing for Confirmation—or anyone interested in learning more about Christianity and the Episcopal Church— Classes will be held Sundays: May 4, 11, 18, 25 & June 1, 8 from 9:00 – 9:45 AM in the Multi-Purpose Room. All are welcome to attend.
This class will also serve as Episcopal 102, an opportunity to deepen your understanding of faith and our tradition.
On Sunday, June 15, we are honored to welcome Bishop Mark Van Koevering of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington to Trinity. Bishop Mark will preach, celebrate the Eucharist, and administer the sacrament of Confirmation. He will also receive individuals who have been confirmed in other denominations into the Anglican Communion.
