MLK Day of Service: Jan. 20
“The greatest birthday gift my husband could receive is if people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds celebrated the holiday by performing individual acts of kindness through service to others.” -Coretta Scott King
On Monday, Jan. 20, our entire parish is encouraged to participate in the national MLK Day of Service by loving our neighbors.
Trinity supports many agencies locally and encourages you and your family to find one to serve in some way. You can collect items for their pantries, donate money, offer to organize their supplies, or even help those in your neighborhood. Or find an organization that is close to your heart and see what you can do to help.
Here is a partial list of agencies Trinity supports:
-CASA
No act is too small. You can offer to help a neighbor with yard work, walk around your city and pick up trash, hand out food bags to those in need, collect clothes for shelters, donate dog food to animal shelters, or any other way you wish to give your time and/or treasure to those in need.
However your family chooses to celebrate MLK Day, I hope you will consider including an act of service.
Blessings,
Shannon Gemeinhardt, Director of Youth Ministry
