Interim Rector Report: Jan. 10

Dear Trinity Church,

I am writing to you as we prepare for the next round of snow heading toward the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area. While the blanket of snow creates beautiful scenery, it also brings increased struggles for many in our community. At Trinity, we continue distributing food to those in need, but others face challenges like shoveling snow, which may leave them confined, alone, and isolated.

Chapter 15 of Luke’s Gospel reminds us of our responsibility to nurture and maintain community, even in the face of obstacles. I encourage you to reach out to neighbors and friends who may feel alone or in despair. Use whatever resources you have—whether it’s a phone call, an email, snow boots and a shovel, a warm meal, a ride to the grocery store, or an invitation to church—to let people know they are not forgotten.

When you extend love and care in this way, no matter how cold it is, you will find yourself standing in the kingdom. Please stay safe during this time, and know that you are all in my prayers.

The Lord be with you,

Jason
