Trinity Sunday Mozart Mass & Confirmation: Jun. 15
Trinity Sunday , always celebrated the Sunday after Pentecost, falls on June 15 this year. Its date—like Pentecost—is determined by the date of Easter. For us at Trinity, this is a special occasion: it is our Feast of Title, and this year we are honored to welcome Bishop Mark Van Koevering for Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation.
To mark the day and celebrate the close of the choir year, the Trinity Choir will present Mozart’s Missa brevis in D minor, K. 65 with orchestra. Soloists include Vidita Kanniks (Soprano), Elise Hyder (Mezzo-Soprano), Jack K. Cox (Tenor), and Cole Stephenson (Bass). Composed just before Mozart’s thirteenth birthday, this brief but powerful mass includes a Sanctus that foreshadows the Requiem and a chromatic duet setting of the Benedictus for soprano and alto. As is tradition, the Credo will be sung during the Offertory.
Following the service, join us for Salad Sunday and a special presentation from our Youth Confirmands, who will share their Confirmation Projects as part of their journey of faith.
