Oct. 21: Midday Musical Menu
On Wednesday, October 21 at 12:15 p.m. three organ students from the College-Conservatory of Music will perform. CCM organ students started playing on the series in 2015. This year there are a first-year doctoral student, a second-year master’s student, and a junior undergrad who returns to the series for a second time. All three study privately at CCM with Dr. Michael Unger. Lunch is available for $8.00 in the May Room from 11:30 a.m. with the free concert following in the church.
Seung Hea Ohn majored in English education in her native Korea and at New York University. She earned her master’s in organ performance at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and did further organ study in Stuttgart. She is now in her first year of the DMA program in organ performance at CCM.
Patrick Wickliffe is a composer and organist dedicated to exploring identities through music. Recent projects have emphasized a celebration of shared human experience through time and space reconceptualization. Currently, Patrick serves as director of music in the Cincinnati Catholic Archdiocese. Patrick is in his second and final year of his master’s degree in organ performance.
Daniel Wicks is currently a junior at CCM studying organ performance. He started organ lessons with his father, Eric Wicks, in Colorado Springs at age 13, having wanted to be an organist for as long as he can remember. Since the beginning of August, Daniel is the organist at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, as well as accompanist for UC Choruses.
