Recording of the January Midday Musical Menu Concert

Here is the recording of last week’s luncheon concert with Jack K. Cox, Tenor and John A. Deaver, Pianist. The program began with Ned Rorem’s “Come, Pure Hearts, in Sweetest Measure.” Two pieces by Wilmer Hayden Welsh follow:  Songs of the Seasons: A Cycle for Four Songs (Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring) and Hymn and Variations on the Welsh Tune “Rhosymedre” for Piano (Hymn and 5 variations).  The concert concluded with 5 songs by Samuel Barber: A Nun Takes the Veil; The Monk and His Cat; The Crucifixion; Sea-Snatch; and Sure on This Shining Night.
