Interim Rector Report: Jan. 17
Dear Trinity Church,
The blanket of snow covering our community this past week made the red doors of Trinity Church stand out more than ever. Red doors hold a deep tradition in the Episcopal Church, found on churches across the nation. Historically, red doors signaled that the building was a safe place for those fleeing oppression, offering sanctuary and protection.
Today, red doors symbolize the church as a place of healing, restoration, and comfort during times of need. This is especially vital in a world so often marked by division and conflict. The red doors remind us of our sacred ministry of healing and reconciliation as followers of Christ.
I pray that Trinity’s red doors serve as a beacon of hope for all who pass by and as a challenge to our congregation to continually welcome the stranger, embrace the newcomer, and offer rest and refreshment to all who seek it.
The Lord be with you,
Jason
