Interim Rector Report: Sep. 6
Dear Trinity Church,
Thank you to all who made a wonderful weekend at Cathedral Domain possible for so many. We move immediately into the Red Door Rally that will take place this Sunday. Many wonderful opportunities for ministry in and around Trinity will be highlighted in the May Room, and individuals involved in these ministries will be available to share their experiences and encourage you to participate if you feel moved to do so. A lot of work has been put into this special day by many Trinity parishioners, so I encourage you all to come.
This Sunday, we begin an expanded worship schedule as well. In addition to the 10:00 am Holy Eucharist, there will also be an 8:00 am Eucharist (Rite I) in the second-floor multipurpose room. There will also be a 5:30 pm Evening Prayer Service in the Sanctuary. Schedules get busy as we move into the Fall, and we want to offer multiple opportunities for members to fulfill their weekly obligation.
Finally, as we increase our efforts in the area of environmental stewardship, the 10:00 am Sunday Bulletin has been reformatted to a trifold, single-page offering with one insert for weekly announcements. Special thanks to Dr. Deaver for all of his hard work to make this possible. I know that change is difficult, but this change significantly reduces cost and waste and encourages increased use of the Book of Common Prayer, which is one of the more significant contributions of the Anglican Communion to Christendom. For more information about the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, please consider coming to Episcopal 101, beginning on Sunday, September 8, at 9:00 am in the multipurpose room.
There is a lot of excitement at Trinity these days. Ministry groups are regathering after a summer break—Choir, Children's Christian Formation, EYC, LGBTQ and Allies, and many more. I hope and pray that the Spirit moves you to continue your journey with this wonderful community of faith as we all make our way a little closer to the Kingdom that Jesus proclaimed.
Sincerely,
Jason
