Interim Rector Report: Nov. 22
Dear Trinity Church,
This coming Sunday marks the final Sunday in the season of Pentecost, celebrated in the Christian calendar as Christ the King Sunday. While the image of Jesus as a king can be unsettling—often associated with wealth and power—our faith challenges us to embrace a new vision of kingship. Jesus offers a radical model of kingship rooted in love and service, reshaping what a kingdom can be. At Trinity Church, we claim this vision as central to who we are: a community that trusts and hopes in a King who came not to be served, but to serve. (Matthew 20:28)
As we transition into the season of Advent, many opportunities will arise to serve individuals and families in need. I encourage you to open your hearts to these opportunities, which will be shared on Sundays, through the website, email, and The Chimes. Step in where you can, remembering the King whose birth we are preparing to celebrate. When you do, I trust you will be surprised by joy and find yourself standing in the kingdom.
The Lord be with you,
Jason
