Sara Miles: A Conversation on Eucharist, Food, Justice, and Community
Friday, September 10, 2021 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
Cincinnati, OH (Location TBA with COVID precautions in place)
What does the Eucharist have to do with life outside of Sunday liturgy? How might it inform our outreach, evangelism, and discipleship? Join author Sara Miles in a conversation about the Eucharist and its meaning in our communities. We will discuss how Christian communities can think about food insecurity, racial and economic reconciliation, and community empowerment through the lens of the Eucharist in our particular neighborhoods. Tickets are free, but registration is required in order for us to prepare the venue for the event. This event is sponsored by the Diocese of Southern Ohio and Church of the Advent. Sara Miles is an author whose books include Take This Bread: A Radical Conversion; Jesus Freak: Feeding Healing Raising the Dead, and City of God: Faith in the Streets. She served as Director of Ministry at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco for ten years, and is the founder and director of The Food Pantry. Sara speaks, preaches, teaches and leads workshops around the world. Her political reporting includes the book How to Hack a Party Line: The Democrats and Silicon Valley, and her journalism has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, the New Yorker, and on National Public Radio.
