Director of Operations

Full-Time • Exempt • Reports to the Rector

Trinity Episcopal Church, a growing parish in Covington, Kentucky, is seeking a Director of Operations to help build the systems and infrastructure behind a congregation on the rise. This is a rare opportunity to shape a role from the ground up — not just manage what exists, but build what’s next — as a key partner to the Rector and a foundational member of a new parish leadership team.

What You’ll Own

  • Ministry Alignment & Leadership Partnership — Keep operations aligned with Trinity’s mission and serve as a trusted partner to the Rector.

  • Administrative & Facilities Infrastructure — Build the systems, records, and processes Trinity needs to scale.

  • Financial Stewardship — Ensure bills and invoices are paid on time, and serve as financial liaison to the Treasurer and accounting firm.

  • Communications — Ensure Trinity’s story and ministry life are told clearly and consistently.

  • People, Volunteers & Culture — Support a healthy, compliant, and collaborative staff and volunteer environment.

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in operations, administration, or organizational management

  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills

  • Financial literacy and experience managing budgets or vendor relationships

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace

  • Comfort naming and solving real problems, and holding yourself and others accountable

Preferred

  • Experience building or reorganizing administrative systems, policies, or workflows

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience

  • Experience in a nonprofit, church, or mission-driven organization

  • Familiarity with the Episcopal or Anglican tradition

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $60,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience. Trinity provides retirement contributions through the Church Pension Fund and health benefits through the Episcopal Church Medical Trust.

Work Environment

On-site in Covington, KY. Regular office hours Tuesday–Friday, with presence expected most Sundays and periodic evenings.
