In the wake of recent events, we want to affirm that our deepest concern is for the safety and welfare of the vulnerable, and for all victims of sexual exploitation and abuse. At the same time, we believe that every person, including those who cause harm, remains a child of God.

However, our call to love does not exempt us from our call to act.
